After 16 years of experience working in the mental health, trauma and substance abuse field, we discovered the healing power of using art in the group therapy setting. We sought to use art to uncover hidden feelings and emotions that were difficult to express with words. Healing Art was born in late 2010. We work with businesses, schools, adults, adolescents, human trafficking victims, veterans and mental health clients. In many of our groups, clients have been able to learn tools to help manage stress, help with better communication, express hidden and suppressed aspects of their addictions and illnesses that they've never told anyone before. We seek to provide an environment that is accepting and free of judgments, while reassuring clients that they still have the opportunity to realize their fullest potential regardless of their past or current situations. We continue to be humbled by and learn from interactions with each participant and look forward to growing with them in the future.
Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space to listen to your concerns.
We at Healing Art LLC believe that it is important to engage our clients in groups involving multi-sensory experiences. Many individuals are more successful in learning/ retaining new information when it is provided using different types of sensory input. We utilize visual, tactile and auditory sensory input in each group session and assist clients with utilizing an alternative method of self expression that often transcends verbal self expression. The technical and creative aspects of art allows us to engage both the left and right hemispheres of our clients brains. This aids them in developing their ability to visualize themselves successfully achieving their goals. If they can visualize success, they can attain it.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing.
Sessions can be beneficial for participants who are looking to improve their strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationships.
